14 medals including 10 golds ! Japan brilliantly completed the World university championships that took place in Kobe from July 19th to 22nd. Iran finishes 2nd nation with 11 medals including 1 gold, France ranks 3rd nation with 8 medals.

Two finals for Iran and France, four for Japan. Like yesterday, Japan took the lead on the second day of the World University championships held in Kobe (Japan). France, with five new possibilities of medal on Sunday, is the only country in the world, with Iran, to keep up with the fast pace of the Japanese team.

The World University championships are taking place in the mother earth of Karate. From July 19th to 22nd, Kobe hosts the best karate students ready to win the ultimate title.After this first day of competition, Japan placed 5 karatekas in the finals over 6 categories.

The 15th Asian Championships’ practical guide
The 15th Asian championships start tomorrow on July 13th in Aman, Jordan. Until Sunday, 300 Karatekas from 29 countries will compete. With seven medals including two golds, Yakan Tuba (-55 kg) and Eltemur (-75 kg), Turkey is ahead of France and its four medals including two golds (Garcia in +68 kg and Garin in -67 kg) and Morocco (2 medals) at the 28th Mediterranean Games held on June 23th-24th in Tarragona (Spain). Koji Arimoto: "I want to be World champion again in 2020"
Outstanding in Paris in 2012 when he was only 20 years old, Koji Arimoto is still remembered for the astonishing performance of the Japan Kata team during its successful world final. Since then, he has become a teacher in the JKS (Japan Karate Shoto Federation), but he has not given up competition. 3rd at the Guadalajara Serie A last February, he continues on in his career in the individual and team categories. Today, at 26 years old, this young Sensei (3rd Dan) dreams of one thing : to become World champion again.
