July 8, 2022 will sound like the last coronation and the end of the Sandra Jaime Sanchez era. Olympic champion, double world champion, 7 times European champion, the Spaniard bows out on a last title.

Like Sanchez, Terliuga assumes her favorite status and wins the World Games in -55 kg.

In the other categories, there were many surprises: Tsukii (-50 kg), Figueira (-67 kg), Anis (-60 kg) and Moto (Kata) leave with gold.

World champion Ahlam Youssef, impressive in the pool (6-2, 9-1…) had to work harder in the ½ final against Jennifer Warling, who just missed out on the feat (0-0).

Anis won 4-0 against world champion Douglas Brose ! The latter had defeated Angelo Crescenzo in the ½ final (4-2).

Figueira victoire

-67 kg : Figueira on his top again

Not many people would have bet on this final. At the end of the pools, 2 strong men appeared : Dionysios and Maresca (no points conceded). But the ½ finals delivered a verdict contrary to their desires. Figueira topped Maresca 1-0 and Tadissi beat Dionysios 3-0.

The Brazilian, out of form in recent months, found back his karate at the right time and opened his world record by offering himself a ride in the final against the Hungarian (4-0).
