Thomas Scott, Eleni Chatziliadou, Jordan Thomas, Vicky Panetsidou, Sara Cardin, Alexandra Recchia, George Tzanos, Douglas Brose, Maria Torres Garcia, Rodriguo Rojas, Alisa Buchinger… Their dream was broken at the Paris qualifiers (June 11-13). Their social media posts touched us. Certainly imbued with sadness, they are also full of humanism, hope and truthfulness. Simply emotions.

Actus 15/06/2021

 

32 athletes qualified by the ranking, 24 by the OQT + 8 Japanese. It remained to know the 12 qualified via the criterion of continental representation. It’s done. The WKF has officially announced their names.The IOC has also chosen 2 athletes under the banner of Olympic refugees, who do not fall within the quota of 80 athletes. Of the 82 Tokyo Olympians, we therefore know 78 of them. The last 4 tickets will be awarded by invitation by a tripartite commission.

Actus 14/06/2021

 

The Games are done for the qualification. 24 new athletes printed their tickets last weekend for the Tokyo Olympics during the World Olympic Qualifying Tournament (OQT) in Paris (June 11-13). We now know 7 of the 10 qualified ones by category. Among the 3 remaining places to be given, 1 is reserved for the Japanese, the other 2 will be delivered via a continental selection criterion and by IOC wild card. The 56 official qualified athletes.

In this second day of the olympic qualification tournament, 9 athletes won their pass to Tokyo. The most famous are the US Ariel Torres Gutierrez in male kata, Anita Serogina from Ukraine in -61kg and Noah Bitsch from Germany in -75kg.

Before the OQT, Elana Quirici from Switzerland and Gogita Arkania from Georgia were very close to get their ticket to Tokyo. Today, they did the job and got their qualification for the OLympics.
